Project Overview:
The City of Los Angeles (CITY), Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP), is seeking proposals for comprehensive master planning and design consulting services to develop a Master Plan for South Griffith Park. RAP is looking to engage a qualified team capable of providing a full range of disciplines and professional consulting services. The successful Proposer will be responsible for managing the entire project and subcontractors.
The total contract amount will not exceed $250,000, with a performance period of up to 36 months from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). Interim milestone deliverables will be established, with the goal to develop a Draft Master Plan within 12 months and a Final Master Plan within 24 months.
Master Plan Scope:
The Master Plan will include the following key components:
Audit Existing Conditions: Review existing land uses, landscape features, usage patterns, and user groups to identify areas for enhancement and potential new uses.
Integration with Future Projects: Provide a framework to incorporate future projects, such as the Griffith Park Pool and Bathhouse Renovation, into the overall vision for the Plan Area.
Circulation Analysis: Evaluate internal circulation and connections to public transportation networks, including Riverside Drive, Los Feliz Boulevard, Crystal Springs Drive, I-5 Freeway, and LA RiverWay. Include ADA compliance and wayfinding improvements.
Decision-Making Framework: Outline a framework for decision-making between government agencies with purview over the Plan Area, such as RAP, LADWP, Caltrans, USACE, and LACFCD.
Facility Management: Explore opportunities for agreements to manage use and programming for existing and planned facilities, including Friendship Auditorium and the Griffith Park Pool building.
Security and Accessibility Enhancements: Focus on improvements to security, lighting, sustainability, and accessibility.
